SOX (SRY-box transcription factor) inhibitors represent a class of chemical agents specifically designed to modulate the activity of a subset of transcription factors known as SOX proteins. These proteins belong to a larger family of transcription factors that share a highly conserved DNA-binding domain known as the HMG (High Mobility Group) box, which allows them to bind to DNA and regulate gene expression.
