Does the antibody cross-react with Smad5 and Smad8(9)?

Thank you for your question. This mouse monoclonal antibody is specific for Smad1 and does not cross-react with Smad5 or Smad8(9).

Can this anti-body be used in IP test of zebrafish?

Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this antibody in zebrafish samples. There is one known product citation using this antibody for WB/IF in zebrafish samples. The reference number for that publication is PMID: 24777107.

What's the buffer composition for this antibody?

Thank you for your question. The standard format of this antibody is provided in 1.0 ml of PBS with < 0.1% sodium azide and 0.1% gelatin. We also provide a more concentrated carrier free version (without gelatin) in PBS + sodium azide alone, under the "X" catalog number, sc-7965 X, 200 µg/0.1 ml.

I am using Smad1 (A-4): sc-7965 to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Is there a blocking peptide available for Smad1 (A-4): sc-7965?

No. Smad1 Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal raised against amino acids 1-465 representing full length Smad1 of human origin. There is no blocking peptide available.
