Can the sc-5297 antibody be used for western blot of rat kidney tissue? I was trying to find PAI-1 antibody (sc-8979) and just find it has been replaced by sc-5297.

Hello, I have a question about muse antibody for Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1). Could please let me know there is any conjugated   antibody for detection of this protein by flow cytometry ?

Thank you for your question. This mouse monoclonal antibody, PAI-1 (C-9): sc-5297, is available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-5297 PE), fluoroscein (sc-5297 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-5297 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-5297 AF647), 200 µg/ml, for IF, IHC(P) and FCM.

Hello, I have been using PAI-1 Antibody (C-9): sc-5297 for WB and IF successfully on human pulmonary artery endothelial cells. I am hoping to do similar experiments on bovine aortic endothelial cells--does this ab cross-react with bovine cells?

Thank you for your question. We have not tested this mouse monoclonal, PAI-1 Antibody (C-9): sc-5297, on samples of bovine origin to confirm reactivity with that species. The antibody is raised against a recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 24-158 of PAI-1 of human origin. This sequence shares 83% sequence identity with bovine PAI-1 protein. Based on this alignment, there is a significant chance that the antibody would react with bovine. However, we can not recommend it for this species since we have not confirmed it experimentally.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No bands seenWestern blotting was performed using twelve different mouse osteosarcoma cell lines which were previously confirmed to express PAI-1 gene based on RT-PCR. Conditions: 12% gel electrophoresis, wet transfer over 2 hours, primary antibodies at 1:200 dilution in 5% mild blocking solution (4C overnight). There was no band visible following the protocol, although positive control (b-actin) was seen.
