As mentioned in one of the reviews below, Nfe2l1 runs as bands ~80-120 kD. Has the specificity of this antibody been validated in any way?

Thank you for your question. This mouse monoclonal, Nrf1 Antibody (H-4): sc-28379, is raised against amino acids 191-475 of Nrf1 of human origin and has an epitope that can recognize a smaller fragment of Nrf1, also described as the bZIP region ~25-35 kDa. (Please refer to PMID's: 9826775 and 11867748 for more information about this lower molecular weight fragment. Also, a product citation using this antibody, PMID: 22216197). There are currently two full-sized (23-132 kDa) Western blot images shown for this antibody on our website where both the glycosylated full-length Nrf1, and the lower molecular weight bZIP region are observed in various cell lines, including: HeLa, HepG2 and NIH/3T3 whole cell lysates.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-28379 X be used instead of the standard form sc-28379?

Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
