Can CYP19 (E-9): sc-374176 monoclonal antibody be used in IHC with Clarias gariepinus Catfish tissue?

Thank you for your question. We do not have any data or product citations using this antibody for detection in any sample of fish origin. If you know the protein sequence of CYP19 in Clarias gariepinus we can assist you by performing sequence analysis against the antigen used to develop this monoclonal antibody. This antibody is raised against amino acids 204-503 of CYP19 of human origin (accession number P11511). Please contact us for further Technical Support.

Can CYP19 (E-9): sc-374176 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CYP19 (E-9): sc-374176 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

I tried it a number of different tissues (human, cow, and mouse), and am not sure I can detect the correct band. I do, however, get a very bright signal at the wrong molecular weight (~30kDa) that I'm unsure of the identify of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with porcine samples!I received a sample of this antibody for use in western blotting. It works great with porcine testis samples! It gave one beautiful band of an appropriate molecular weight. It also demonstrated linearity with increasing protein concentrations and the negative control was clear. We are very happy.
