I have had trouble getting this Ab (or any AR antibody I purchase from any company) to work. I normally do paraformaldehyde or formaldehyde fixation followed by ICC (cells) or do FFPE tissue with sodium citrate or EDTA tris antigen retrieval. Any tips?

I keep getting band at 150kDa. Do you have any idea as to what this is?

Thank you for your question. The expected molecular weight for androgen receptor (AR) is ~ 110 kDa and 87 kDa (PMID: 16946014). We do not have any information about a 150 kDa size for AR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding antibody!!This is by far the best antibody my lab has ever used to detect the full-length androgen receptor by western blot analysis of human prostate cancer cells. We have try over 6 other androgen receptor antibodies and have never had he same success. This antibody detects only one band migrating at about 110 kDa. Using this antibody at dilution of 1:1000 to 1:2000 in TBST + 3% BSA give a strong signal under 1.0 minute of film exposure using regular ECL.

I previously used N-20 (sc-816) and it used to give a beautiful nuclear staining. It is very frustrating since N-20 is discontinued. It seems that 441 is not a proper subsitiute for N-20.
