ZNF862 Antibody (A-6) is an IgM κ mouse monoclonal ZNF862 antibody (also designated ZNF862 antibody) that detects the ZNF862 protein of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. ZNF862 Antibody (A-6) is available as the non-conjugated anti-ZNF862 antibody. Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, most of which encompass some form of transcriptional activation or repression. The majority of zinc-finger proteins contain a Krüppel-type DNA binding domain and a KRAB domain, which is thought to interact with KAP1, thereby recruiting histone modifying proteins. ZNF862 (zinc finger protein 862) is a 1,169 amino acid nuclear protein that may be involved in transcriptional regulation. Belonging to the Krüppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family, ZNF862 contains thirteen C2H2-type zinc fingers and a KRAB domain. The gene encoding ZNF862 maps to human chromosome 7, which houses over 1,000 genes and comprises nearly 5% of the human genome. Chromosome 7 has been linked to Osteogenesis imperfecta, Pendred syndrome, Lissencephaly, Citrullinemia and Shwachman-Diamond syndrome. The deletion of a portion of the q arm of chromosome 7 is associated with Williams-Beuren syndrome, a condition characterized by mild mental retardation, an unusual comfort and friendliness with strangers and an elfin appearance. Deletions of portions of the q arm of chromosome 7 are also seen in a number of myeloid disorders including cases of acute myelogenous leukemia and myelodysplasia.
