VLDLR(极低密度脂蛋白受体)是LDL受体基因家族的成员,包括LDL受体、LRP、Megalin、VLDLR和ApoER2。LDL受体家族的特征在于富含半胱氨酸的A类重复序列簇、表皮生长因子(EGF)样重复序列、YWTD重复序列和O-连接糖域。VLDLR在脑、心脏、骨骼肌和脂肪组织中表达。它在受体折叠过程中与RAP(受体相关蛋白)结合,RAP促进VLDLR细胞外区域的分泌。VLDLR被认为介导细胞外Reelin与胞质mDab1(哺乳动物失能蛋白)的相互作用,从而激活酪氨酸激酶。该通路调节神经元在大脑发育过程中沿径向胶质纤维网络的迁移。
