We have been looking for antibodies which recognize human transferrin, but not mouse or bovine transferrin. Do you have those antibodies?

Thank you for your question. We currently offer two different monoclonal antibodies which are recommended for detection of human transferrin alone. One is our, transferrin (D-9): sc-365871, and the other is our transferrin (E-8): sc-393595. We have not specifically tested these antibodies for lack of cross-reactivity with mouse or bovine transferrin. Please contact our Technical Service Department and we would be happy to perform sequence analysis on the antibody immunogen sequences and provide you with more information about potential cross-reactivity with these other species. Can I use transferrin (E-8): sc-393595 monoclonal antibody for detection of mouse protein?

We do not currently recommend the (E-8) clone for use in mouse samples (it has not yet been tested). As an alternative, we would recommend either, transferrin (F-8): sc-373785, or transferrin (11D3): sc-52256, which have both been validated for use in mouse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Germaine from Highly recommended for IHC(P) and WB.Produced great Immunoperoxidase staining of formalin fixed, paraffin-embedded human liver tissue showing cytoplasmic staining of hepatocytes. Strong WB banding in human liver and human brain tissue extracts and Hep G2 whole cell lysate.
