Can this antibody act as IF in rats

Thank you for your question. Anti-Smad4 Antibody (B-8) is recommended for detection of Smad4 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P), FCM and ELISA and would thus be suitable for your proposed experiment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from no signalI have tried different dilutions of Smad4 antibody(B8) from 100 to 1000, none of them worked. Protein loading is 40ug of nuclear fraction or cytosolic fraction from induced human alveolar type 2 cells.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good one for immunoprecipitationWe used the Ab for immunoprecipitation of endogenous as well as transfected SMAD4 from HEK293T cells. It worked very well - 1 µg Ab (5µl) was incubated with 250µl of lysate obtained from a 70-80% confluent 10cm dish. A specific (absent in IgG control) distinct right-sized band with good enrichment was obtained in all IP samples. It was used for studying interactions as well as SMAD4 ubiquitination.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from my review for Smad4 (B-8, sc-7966) antibodyI tested a free antibody for Smad4 (sc-7966) antibody using mouse fibrotic kidney samples for Western blot. We loaded 80 ug proteins in each slot in the SDS gel. The antibody was diluted in 1:500 in 3% BSA/PBST and incubated overnight with the blot. We can observe a very clear band around 55 kd. We have repeated this experiment several times and used the fresh diluted antibody on the fresh blot.
