I'm looking for an antibody to detect Serotonin in delta granules of platelets with flow cytometry. Your clone YC5/45 might help. But I could not find any anti-rat secondary antibody from Santa Cruz. Would sc-518084 and sc-516179 be an alternative?

Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this antibody in flow cytometry (FCM) and so it is not a recommended application at this time. This antibody is recommended for IF and IHC(P). Unfortunately, we do not currently offer any anti-rat IgG secondary antibody in our catalog. The other primary antibody, ST Antibody (H-8): sc-518084 , is a mouse monoclonal recommended for detection of the ST protein, also known as Sodium-dependent serotonin transporter (SERT), or SLC6A4. This antibody also has not yet been tested in flow cytometry, and it is not a recommended application at this time. Please contact our Technical Service Department for further support.

Does this ab work in cell lysate (human) for western blot? Is there any other ab which does?

Thank you for your question. Serotonin Antibody (YC5/45): sc-58031 is not recommended for Western blot. It is currently recommended for IF and IHC(P) only. We do not have any alternative Serotonin antibody at this time that is recommended for Western blotting.

Serotonin Antibody (YC5/45) is recommended for detection of Serotonin containing cell bodies and terminals in the central and peripheral nervous systems of broad mammalian origin by IF and IHC(P); may cross-react with dopamine, tryptamine and methoxytryptamine. This product is suggested to be used according to our recommended protocols for IF (methanol-fixed cells) and IHC(P) (pre-treatment in pH 6.0 citrate buffer): https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols
