Has this antibody ever been tested against yeast Rps6?

We have not yet tested the FITC conjugated antibody in FCM. The conjugated primary antibody is recommended and warrantied for flow cytometry (FCM), however we are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

Are there any issues with using this mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, our Ribosomal Protein S6 sc-74459 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC, AlexaFluor 488 and AlexaFluor 647.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works with yeast S. cerevisae Rps6This antibody has good sensitivity and specificity towards yeast S. cerevisae Rps6. Yeast were grown to log-phase and collected over 5 hrs. Yeast lysates were collected using the culture boiling technique resuspending in 1x loading buffer (30 uL/1.0 OD600*mL cells collected) and loading 8 uL per well (https://doi.org/10.1002/yea.1628). Total protein staining by R-Prob Sigma kit to show consistent protein levels per lane. Antibody used at 1:1000 dilution.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from IOutstanding antiibody!We used this antibody to selectively detect total ribosomal protein S6 in PC-3 cells by Western blot. When used at 1:10,000 (in TBST-3% BSA) this antibody yields a single band at the expected MW. Inhibiting mTOR with rapamycin or YM155, as expected, does not inhibit this signal.
