在结构上，C-C或b-chemokines的特征是有一组保守的相邻半胱氨酸。该家族的成员包括MCP-1、MCP-2、MCP-3、MIP-1α、MIP-1β、RANTES和I-309。RANTES（激活后调节、正常T细胞表达和分泌）在血小板、嗜酸性粒细胞、成纤维细胞、巨噬细胞、内皮细胞和T淋巴细胞中表达。与chemokine家族一致，RANTES对单核细胞和NK细胞具有强的趋化活性。I-309最初被识别为γ/δ T淋巴细胞中的一种因子。I-309 cDNA编码一种长度为73个氨基酸的蛋白，具有一个潜在的N-连接糖基化位点。与C-C家族的其他成员不同，I-309不能诱导天然杀伤（NK）细胞的趋化。
