How many isoforms can this antibody detect exactly?

Thank you for your question. This antibody was raised against amino acids 373-672 of PKC alpha of human origin. The exact epitope has not been mapped. The expected molecular weight for this protein is ~80kDa.

SC Support, We recently got some PKC Antibody (A-3): sc-17769 to try for free, thank you. I see that it was raised with amino acids 373-672 of PKC of human origin. We were wondering what isozymes of PKC will be recognized by this antibody? Thank you.

Thank you for your question. We have not determined the exact epitope recognized by this specific mouse monoclonal antibody, PKC (A-3): sc-17769. The antibody is raised against an antigen that shares significant sequence identity with PKC alpha, beta and gamma, and to a lesser extent, some identity with PKC epsilon, eta, theta and delta.

How can PKC (A-3): sc-17769 monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. PKC (A-3): sc-17769 monoclonal antibody is currently available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-17769 PE), fluorescein (sc-17769 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-17769 AF488), and Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-17769 AF647).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PKC antibody "A-3"We got a free sample from Santa Cruz and wondered which isoform this antibody recognizes. Even though there is sequence homology between the antigen it was raised against and other isozymes, A-3 doesn't seem to recognize anything other than PKC-alpha at least among the ones we tried (see Western blot). Nice!
