Does this antibody can detect exogenously overexpressed p85a (plasmid containing GFP tag)?

Thank you for your question. The antibody is known to detect PI 3-kinase p85α in the cytoplasm and is not tagged to GFP.

Is there a way to use this mouse antibody for staining on mouse tissue sections?

This antibody is recommended for IHC and IF. However, the best results for staining mouse sections with a mouse antibody, is to use a direct conjugate. See PI 3-kinase p85α/β/p55γ (D-9): sc-374534 for PI 3-kinase p85α antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Workable antibody, requires some fine-tuningThe antibody worked well enough in Western Blotting for our purposes. We had to incubate the primary antibody overnight at 4°C at a 1:500 dilution to get a visible band in 30µg of whole cell lysate. A 2 hour incubation of primary antibody in blocking buffer was insufficient. With the overnight incubation, we had some background signal. But the bands were strong enough for quantification on a LI-COR system.
