Good day!! I am getting double band on western blot using this antibody. (one of 53 kda and another of 49 kda), why is it?

Thank you for your question. p53 protein has several different isoforms that stem from alternative splicing. These isoforms differ in length and molecular weight and may contribute to different signals being observed in western blots.
