硫辛酸抗体（13C5）是一种IgM小鼠单克隆硫辛酸抗体（也称为硫辛酸抗体），可通过WB、IF、IHC(P)和酶联免疫吸附试验(ELISA)检测硫辛酸蛋白。硫辛酸抗体（13C5）可作为非偶联抗硫辛酸抗体使用。硫辛酸，也被称为α-硫辛酸，是一种有机含硫脂肪酸，由环状二硫化物和羧酸组成。硫辛酸的共轭碱，即硫辛酸根，在大多数生理条件下都存在，与硫辛酸一样，对于有氧生命是必不可少的，参与丙酮酸脱氢酶复合物内的各种转移反应。硫辛酸通过其在代谢中的重要作用，被认为具有神经保护剂和抗炎化合物的功能，为阿尔茨海默病、帕金森病和多发性硬化的有效治疗提供了可能。此外，硫辛酸可用于治疗汞中毒，因为其两个硫醇基团具有很强的螯合活性。硫辛酸是一种常见的膳食补充剂，存在于多种食物中，包括菠菜、土豆和西兰花，以及肝脏、心脏和肾脏肉类。

Hi, I am wondering if this antibody will work on lipoylated proteins and whether lipoic acid can be run on a gel. Thank you.

Thank you for your question. We have not tested this antibody for the detection of lipoylated proteins and so that is not a recommended application at this time. This antibody is recommended for detection of free and bound Lipoic Acid in Western blotting.

Can sc-101354: Lipoic Acid (13C5) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101354: Lipoic Acid (13C5) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections.
