Thank you for your question. This antibody can detect both mature and precursor forms of IL1B in western blot.

can I use this antibody(sc-32294) in mouse brain tissue for western blot?

Thank you for your question. This antibody has not yet been tested in mouse and so that is not a recommended species at this time. It is human reactive only. We are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

Can IL-1β (E7-2-hILβ): sc-32294 monoclonal antibody be used in WB with zebrafish tissue ? Will there be non-specific staining?

Thank you for your question. This antibody has not been tested for use on zebrafish samples, so it is not recommended or warrantied for this use. However we do have a publication with this antibody in fish samples (PMID: 30589112). It is fine for WB applications.

Can this il- 1b (sc 32294) detects mature form also..please clear

Thank you for your question. Yes, this antibody, IL-1β Antibody (E7-2-hIL1β): sc-32294, is recommended for detection of precursor and mature IL-1beta. This has been confirmed through testing against the purified mature IL-1beta protein. In the cell lysates tested, we have also only observed the precursor form. We recommend you consult some of the product citations using this antibody to see if there is any recommendation for inducing expression of the mature form of the protein.

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, IL-1β (E7-2-hILβ): sc-32294 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

One lot showed only the mature band while the other showed only the precursor band for the same cell type. Antibody dilution used was 1:200.
