For this antibody is there evidence of good cross-reactivity with Golden Syrian Hamsters. We want to use it in IHC against Hamster lungs.

Thank you for your question. We have not validated the antibody for Golden Syrian Hamster. The antibody is recommended for mouse, rat ,human and hamster samples.

Can I use an anti-mouse IgG secondary antiboby with this antibody made in Hamster?

Thank you for your question. We do not recommend using an anti-mouse IgG secondary antibody for detection of this primary antibody. IL-1β Antibody (B122) is a Armenian hamster monoclonal IgG, and so you will need to use a secondary antibody that is specific for the detection of Armenian hamster IgG. We recommend using our mouse anti-Armenian hamster IgG-HRP: sc-2789, for example, if you need the secondary antibody conjugated to HRP.

Thank you for your question. This Armenian hamster monoclonal antibody, IL-1β (B122): sc-12742, is raised against the mature form of IL-1β of mouse origin. The exact sequence used to develop the antibody is not known.

Can IL-1β (B122): sc-12742 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, IL-1β (B122): sc-12742 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

Tested conditions: 1:200 dilution in TBS-T overnight at 4°C and 1 h treatment with horseradish peroxidase-conjugated secondary antibody (1:1000 dilution). Measurements were carried out using TMB as a substrate (100 μl/well), reaction was stopped byaddition of 2N H2S04 (100 μl/well).
