To whom it may concern, I have used this antibody in previous experiments and would just like to know if you can provide any information as to what each of the three bands revealed through Western Blot correspond to in reference to the HSF1 protein?

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we have not further characterized the identity of separate bands of similar molecular weight that we observed when testing this antibody in different cell lines. Representative Western blot data is shown on our website for this HSF1 antibody. According to Uniprot, there are 2 isoforms described with predicted molecular weights of ~ 57 and 53 kDa, however due to post-translational modifications the observed molecular weight for HSF1 protein is higher and typically greater than 90 kDa.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-13516 X be used instead of the standard form sc-13516?

Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
