Thank you for your question. This antibody has not been evaluated for its ability to detect superfolder GFP. Due to the mutations present in that protein, the antibody may be unable to recognize it.

Hello, a smearing band appears during western blotting in 1000: 1 condition using sc9996 antibody. Does this antibody need to be reduced using b-mercaptoethanol?

Thank you for your question. Anti-GFP Antibody (B-2): sc-9996 was raised against amino acids 1-238 representing full length GFP (green fluorescent protein) of Aequorea victoria origin. It recognises GFP in samples of any species in which GFP with that amino acid sequence is expressed.
