Rated 4 out of 5 by Sabbir from A good antibody but with caution!!The G-alpha-12 is like a dizygotic twin of G-alpha 13, SCBT has excellent G-alpha 13 antibody (SC293424, please read my review), The G-alpha 12 fulfill the promise of not showing any corresponding band in the knockout cell line (see the gel picture) but unfortunately, it picks up a strong high molecular (>250kda) band. Now, the good news is that you can always cut your blot at that region and get rid of that non specific band and save the exhaustion of antibody. The non specific band may also be tissue/cell line specific, may not appear in your tissue of interest. This gene is relatively less expressed (when compared to G-alpha 13) in HEK293 cells. By the way,the extra band is not coming from Porin, because I checked that possibility, trust me! so, no worries, this is still good antibody and will do its job.
