氯化肌酸锌是肌酸分解代谢的最终产物。尿液中的正常成分;每日排出量约为 25 毫克/千克体重。尿液中的含量增加通常与肾功能严重受损有关。也与肌酸一起存在于肌肉组织和血液中。在碱性条件下会与苦味酸反应,形成 Janovski 复合物。在 480-520 纳米波长下测量的有色复合物的形成速率与肌酐浓度成正比。
