I need an anti human CD4 antibody specific for D1 or D2 for Western blot. Will the MT310 work for my purpose? Also, does it cross reacts with monkey CD4? Thanks!

Our laboratory has been performing western blots using human CD4 and we obtained this antibody but have seen cross reactivity with our other antibody that binds human CD4. Our other antibody is 6-HIS tagged and contains mouse heavy and light chains.

Thank you for your question. This CD4 Antibody (MT310) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 (kappa light chain). It is recommended for detection of CD4 of mouse, rat and human origin. It should not cross-react with other mouse monoclonal primary antibodies, or mouse IgG. If your other antibody is also a mouse monoclonal IgG, then we recommend including a secondary antibody control on your Western blot (omit primary antibody). This will help evaluate potential cross-reactivity of your secondary antibody (anti-mouse IgG) with your samples. Please contact us for further Technical Support.

I will use the anti-mouse Ab CD4 (MT 310) -HRP sc-19641. At what concentration can I use it for a Western blot and in which buffer for blocking and incubation. Thank you

We recommend to use the primary antibody at a dilution of 1:200 for Western blotting. We recommend using 5% nonfat milk + TBST for blocking and antibody incubation.
