How do I know the shelf life of the antibody I bought？Can antibodies plus an equal volume of glycerol be stored at -20 for a longer shelf life？

Thank you for your question. The shelf life of an antibody can vary, but 1-5 years is typical. Since we cannot monitor the vial once it is in the customer's hands, we extend our warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase. Antibodies should be stored according to the datasheet, cannot add glycerol or store at -20°C.

Hi I'm using 9E10 for an immunoprecipitation of a protein at 50kda. Can you recommend another anti-myc to then use in the western blot to detect the myc tagged protein as using 9E10 again causes the heavy antibody chain to mask my band.

I kept the anti myc antibody sc 40 in -20 freezer and now I am not able to detect the protein.. I want to know that whether my antibody is good or degraded

Thank you for your question . Santa Cruz Biotechnology antibodies are stored at 4° C. We do not recommend freezing our antibodies . If you would like to freeze the antibody I recommend ordering the X form since it does not contain gelatin . If the gelatin is frozen it can damage the antibody .

I am using a common 10 amino acid Myc epitope (EQKLISEEDL) that is part of the 32 aa epitope 9E10 was raised against. 9E10 works for my 10 aa epitope (your citation list, PMID: 35037619). This is useful information for your product description.
