QAPRTase Antibody (ZN-17) is a high quality monoclonal QAPRTase antibody (also designated QAPRTase antibody) suitable for the detection of the QAPRTase protein of human origin. QAPRTase Antibody (ZN-17) is available as the non-conjugated anti-QAPRTase antibody. Quinolinate phosphoribosyltransferase (QPRTase) is a major enzyme in the catabolism of quinolinate. Quinolinate is an intermediate in the tryptophan-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) pathway, leading to the production of nicotinic acid, carbon dioxide, and pyrophosphate. Catabolism of quinolinate is vital due to the quinolinate′s neurotoxicity. Increased levels of quinolinate have been linked to neurodegenerative symptoms associated with meningitis and AIDS. QAPRTase has a seven-stranded alpha/beta-barrel domain which is similar in structure to the eight-stranded alpha/beta-barrel enzymes. The protein possesses a novel fold in comparison to other members of the PRTase family. This fold comprises a structure combining two domains. The structure is part alpha/beta barrel-like domain, and part alpha/beta N-terminal domain.

Can sc-100809: QAPRTase (ZN-17) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?
Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100809: QAPRTase (ZN-17) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here:
