POMZP3 Antibody (YY-47) is a high quality monoclonal POMZP3 antibody (also designated POMZP3 antibody) suitable for the detection of the POMZP3 protein of human origin. POMZP3 Antibody (YY-47) is available as the non-conjugated anti-POMZP3 antibody. POMZP3 (POM and ZP3 fusion protein) is a 210 amino acid fusion protein expressed in a variety of human tissues, including colon, spleen, testis, thymus, ovary, lymphocytes, pancreas and small intestine. POMZP3 is encoded by a gene that resulted from the fusion of duplicated POM121 and ZP3 DNA sequences. The 5′ end of POMZP3 shares 77% identity with POM121, while the 3′ end shares 99% identity with ZP3. POM121 is an integral nuclear pore membrane protein that may contribute to the permeability of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). Unlike POM121, POMZP3 does not contain the nuclear pore localization motif and, therefore, most likely does not associate with the NPC. ZP3 functions as a sperm recpetor ligand of the zona pellucida and plays a key role in the first step of the fertilization process. Following sperm-oocyte binding, ZP3 triggers the sperm acrosome reaction that releases the protein machinery, enabling a spermatozoon to penetrate the zona pellucida.

Can sc-100902: POMZP3 (YY-47) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?
Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100902: POMZP3 (YY-47) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here:
