KiSS-1 Antibody (24-Q) is a high quality monoclonal KiSS-1 antibody (also designated KiSS-1 antibody) suitable for the detection of the KiSS-1 protein of human origin. KiSS-1 Antibody (24-Q) is available as the non-conjugated anti-KiSS-1 antibody. KiSS-1 is a 145 amino acid human protein that suppresses metastases of melanomas and breast carcinomas without affecting tumorigenicity. The human KiSS-1 gene maps to chromosome 1q32 and consists of four exons. Transcripts for human KiSS-1 are predominantly expressed in the brain and placenta. KiSS-1 protein contains a polyproline-rich domain (SH3 ligand) and a putative protein kinase C-alpha phosphorylation site. KiSS-1 may regulate events downstream of cell-matrix adhesion in mechanisms involving cytoskeletal reorganization. Expression of KiSS-1 reduces the level of NFkappaB p50/p65 binding to the MMP-9 promoter and correlates with diminished expression of MMP-9 (also designated 92 kDa type IV collagenase or gelatinase B). KiSS-1 displays agonist activity on the orphan G protein-coupled receptor GPR54.

Does sc-101246 recognise mouse Kisspeptin?
Asked by: researcher1
Thank you for your question. We do not recommend using this antibody, KiSS-1 (24-Q): sc-101246, for detection of mouse Kisspeptin-1. It is only recommended for detection in human samples.

Can sc-101246: KiSS-1 (24-Q) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?
Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101246: KiSS-1 (24-Q) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here:

Didnt have luck in sheep hypothalamusUsing free-floating sections from sheep tissue, and an immunoperoxidase method of IHC, we did not see any immunostained cells using this antibody at dilutions of
1:1000, 1:2000, or 1:4000.
